There we go!

It’s been 2 weeks since I moved out of my sweet precious apartment in Savannah, Georgia, and said goodbye to my dear roommate and wonderful friends. That probably was one of the saddest things I’ve ever done, but it’s exciting too… I also don’t think it’s quite set in yet.

I went to Savannah this past weekend too, to see my favorite band (The Avett Brothers!!!!!!) play. It was so fun. They were so good.

Now that’s over, and we have internet back in this house in the hot and sunny Orlando, Florida, I have finally updated the portfolio section of this blog with all photos from my senior portfolio! So please! Check it out!

I still have images I want to post, and I will be making some things in the upcoming months that I will photograph and add to the section as they come.

And just a little update- I want a creative job in the Orlando area.

Love love.

Trolley Wood

The other night I went to the Time Base Type 2 show at the CSF building.

Time Base Type is the coolest thing ever. There were 2 that I particularly enjoyed, and this one was one of my favorites:

(sorry, I can’t post the video because I don’t know how to post/know if you CAN post vimeo videos on here. So just visit the link.)

Trolley Wood by Darrin Dick.

Man, I love it. So sweet!

Finished!!!!!!!

I’m done!!!!!!!!!!!

Expect final photos of the portfolio soon.

They look so so good. Here’s a little preview:

Today my dear friend Caitlin Betsy Bell took some lovely photographs of some of my portfolio work.

We are taking more tomorrow of the rest of my portfolio!

These are my Savannah inspired cloth napkins- the 5 things I’m going to miss most (besides the people of course) about Savannah once I leave in 2 weeks.

So these are the top 5 things I’m going to miss for sure:

1. Biking everywhere.

2. “The Shire” aka: my apartment.

3. All of the beautiful and vintage houses around town.

4. Forsyth Park.

5. Living on a grid system and just being able to say, “I live on ______ st. and ________ st.” and have people know exactly where that is. It’s nice.

Almost finished!

(Oh, and if you want to see the other photos, please go take a look at my Flickr.)

So I’m pretty much obsessed with this video:

AMAZING.

It’s Mother’s Day!!!!

So happy mother’s day to my wonderful mom.

Momma, I love you so much and am sorry that I didn’t send you a present or anything today. (But I’m glad you liked your teenie tiny itty bitty card.)

Because I didn’t send you anything, I will unveil a secret that I have been keeping for a while: I made something for you! In your honor! I just can’t give it to you until after my senior show. You have seen it already, but I didn’t tell you that I made it for you when I showed it to you because I wanted to surprise you.

The backstory: When I was in France, I came to the conclusion that the best things I ever make are things that are inspired by people that I love/people that have inspired me. So I started out my portfolio with that  idea of wanting to make inspired objects, and I have. I made the napkins inspired by Savannah and the people and things I’ve loved here, and what I made for you was obviously inspired by you! (And by the Gee’s bend ladies- but I didn’t make the quilt for them of course.)

So that quilt’s for you Momma.

I love you so much and am so blessed to have you as a mom. You are truly amazing and have been such a wonderful support to me throughout my whole life.

Thank you for always loving me no matter what I say or do, for letting me go away on all of my adventures, for backing me up in the dreams I have for my life, for raising me to be a woman of integrity and character, and for everything else you do/have done and shown me just by being you.

You are the greatest mom ever and I love you so much.

Happy Mother’s Day!!!!!!
